Today, I would like to write about the top 5 Catholic bookstores, that I have had the pleasure to shop from both online and in person. Here are my top picks in no particular order.
- Mustard Seed Bookstore (www.mustardseed.org.au)

This Catholic bookstore is run by the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney and is the one of the nation’s largest suppliers of Catholic books and devotional merchandise. This store has a large offering of books across theology, spirituality, liturgy and Catholic ethics.
Located within the St Martha’s precinct in Leichhardt, this bookstore occupies a small footprint with a select physical offering (although small, it has a great selection!). For the full range, check out their online store. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful.

Located in the Sydney CBD, this Catholic bookstore is run by the Daughters of St Paul. It was originally founded by Blessed James Alberione who’s mission was to spread the Gospel throughout the world through channels of modern media.
This store spans across 2 levels and has a broad range of Christian and Interdenominational materials. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this Catholic store, when you’re next in the city. It is not to be missed.

Located within the Mackillop Centre, this is a hidden gem of a bookstore!
It was first founded by Fr James Tierney as an ‘approved private enterprise within the Archdiocese of Sydney’, approved by Archbishop Anthony Fisher in 2010.
This bookstore specialises in national religious educational resources, family catechetics and holds numerous resources for the Catholic homeschooling community. It is spread across 2 large rooms and is filled with invaluable Catholic resources including books, CD’s/DVD’s and piety store items. (eg. Rosaries, scapulars, statues etc). A visit to this store is highly recommended.

Founded by Charbel Raish, Parousia Media offers an outstanding selection of Catholic books and materials including CD’s/DVD’s, Ebooks and MP3’s. However, Parousia Media goes beyond a traditional bookstore. One look at their modern website and you can quickly see the community they are nourishing through ongoing events, evangelisation academies, podcasts, pilgrimages and Parousia on Demand (a catholic content and video series). This is truly a one-of-a-kind outfit and one to check out!

Located in the grounds of St Patricks Cathedral Parramatta, in the historic murphy house.
St Patricks Giftshop offers a range of books and inspirational products, statues, gifts and greeting cards.
