May holds a special place in the Catholic heart. We dedicate the entire month of May to our beautiful Blessed & Holy Mother.
This tradition has developed over centuries , especially in Europe.
May, marked the beginning of spring and with it came the beauty of new life and regeneration that became a symbol of Mary’s fruitfulness.
Fast forward to present day, and we have adopted May as the month of Mary universally. This month isn’t just symbolic, it is meant to be lived.
Here are 10 ways to honour Mary, during the month of May:
- Pray the rosary daily with your family. Invite your friends for a rosary prayer night.
- Create a Marian Shrine in your home. Include candles, flowers and display your Marian artwork/needlework etc.
- Crown all your Marian statues with flowers, also known as the ‘May crowning’.
